Underground Photography

This was something I watched this spring. I thought it was pretty incredible and brave for this woman to go out on her own and document these things. Our recent work on walks and maps reminded me of this video & I want to share it!

Walk to Fairy Falls by August Hess

For my walk, some friends and I went for a hike to Fairy Falls in the Columbia River Gorge. My rules were to react to the surroundings when inspired using performance art, tarot cards, and poetry. I created a small movie (shown here in 4 parts) of our walk.

AND I found a new love- making short films!! This is my first try at it and it took forever but was a blast!

Interior Views of August's Cardboard Modernism Project

Unique sculptures

I have been looking around online for unique sculptures, some for their interest, some for what they are made from.

The first three are made from chewed bubblegum.

This one is made from wood & aluminum foil

I just liked the monumental scale of this bronze sculpture.

This one is from Jeff Koonz - a unique artist who only comes up with the ideas - has artists actually make them. He loves to make sculptures of popular items like balloon animals. This huge one is made of epoxy resin.

The site was in Italian, so I couldn't read it, but it looks like this sculpture is covered in natural materials.

This one is plexiglass & light.

Nicole D.'s Cardboard Sculpture

This was up towards Washington Park, nice green background.

Church parking lot kind of by my house. I wanted to try it with a very plain background so the colors on the skull would stand out better.

Some neat-o graffiti on the back side of the Kuni BMW building. Thought the colors went well together on this one.
